  • Go fourth and multiply

Had to laugh at this article on the BBC.

What is it with comunist countries? China is capping the number of kids you can have, whilst Russia is handing out prizes if your skiving off work & humping on the right day produces an offspring!

Just imagine the scene... Russian family planning clinic:

Planner: Velcome family, please take a seat, and tell me your problems

Svetlana: Vell I vould like very much new food processor.

Vlad: Da, und I vould like very much new american SUV car.

Planner: Da, I understanding! Hmmmm (flicks through large desk calendar). You need to drink many wodka & dance horizontally on 15 Oktober unt 30 Nowember. Svetlana - you have sister? Maybe inwite in 30 to join in just in case you already carry potatoe in oven. If you have 2 infant on correct days, maybe also vin cuddly toy!

  • Blow away chatup lines

I'm endeavouring to stop being such a saddo and get out more, hoping to maybe even catch me one of them strange women folk, as it's been a while since the last one escaped...

    foot in mouth

Trouble is I'm a little shy when it comes to meeting new people, especially ones that I may be interested in stalking.

So any tips / chatup lines would be most appreciated, especially ones you have personally used or that worked on you.

The only ones I know would result in a well merited slap in the chops!

  • Lifes a beach

Took some pics yesterday morning for a customer on Bournemouth beach. It was a beautiful morning, so I got some nice shots of the beach & sea too that I though may brighten up your day:

  • New Annoying List

Here's a new list for everybody to copy & paste into their blogs.

    1) On a scale of 1 (not at all) to 10 (incredibly), how bored are you today?

    2) What is the star sign of your last missed call's last missed call?

    3) List the last 3 places you scratched on you body?

    4) Name 2 activities you cold be doing, instead of filling out pointless lists?

    5) List 3 good reasons not to cut & paste lists into your blog?

    6) How many ligth bulbs does it take to change a lightbulb?

    7) I place lists into my blog because....

    8) What is your favourite grayscale tone?

    9) WHY?

    10) Yes, but WHY???

  • Time to come clean....

So how many hours a week do you spend blogging / reading others blogs?

The truth please, no place for denial here.

  • Can you think of nothing?

I was trying to have a little snooze earlier today, and tried to completely clear my mind (enter sarcastic comment here re what a small task that must have been etc).

I have to say, I found it virtually impossible to achieve for any length of time. I started to imagine a white disc, growing larger and pushing out all other thoughts.

Does anybody have any better ideas - and do you find it easy to achive?

  • An amazing find!

I've been blown away recently by a singer called Regina Spektor. Whatever you do, listen to the first 2 songs listed below:

    Samson - just beautiful :-)

    Fidelity

She's a classicaly trained Russian pianist living in New York. Her music / lyrics, and the way she plays with sounds / words is really unique, and gets right under your skin once you've had a couple of listens.

Her live stuff is equally as impressive as her recorded. She bashes out songs at a rate of knots - so has already 2 albums, and stacks of other stuff when you listen to her live.

Watch this space, she'll be big! Here's a couple more links:

    Us

    Raindrops

Statue of Baby Jesus - live

Music Box (fogive the home vid!)

Too may to post, but you should get the idea.... enjoy & don't blame me when you can't stop listening to her!

  • Beach Reconstruction

Well this happened in late Jan, but it's definately interesting - they have been replacing the sand along Bournemouth beach over the winter with sand dredged from Poole harbour. They transport it in a massive ship, pump it ashore via a huge pipeline, then buldoze it into place.

It's a 5 year olds dream! Here are some pics I took of it happening by the pier, enjoy!

  • If blogs are cyberpets better call the RSPCB

Yes that's Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Blogs. I've been sorely neglecting mine, so have popped back to give it a quick bath & some new food & water. Sorry boy!

Will try to be a better poster in future... or I may have it taken away from me.

  • Where should ones castle be suituated thesedays?

I was on the train the other day (that's another rant in it's own right), and overheard a couple of students discussing the fact that some paper had a list of the best places to live in the UK and Bournemouth came in 8th.

Now they were probably from some deprived hellhole such as Harogate or Oxford, but anyway, it got me thinking, where are the better 7 places? Maybe I'm selling myself short and should be considering a move.

If you know, I'd love to hear what the top 7 are, or even just your oppinion of where is the best place to live in the UK (Londoners need not apply!).

Also, I'd also like to know what qualified the person who researched this to be able to give the masses such an assured definitive of what the top 10 are...
